Building World-Class SE Organizations and Leaders
The Sales Engineering Leadership Institute helps leaders, teams, and organizations design and scale for success, optimizing commercial, operational, organizational, and personal performance.
Through workshops, leadership training, coaching, strategic advisory, and practical resources, SELI helps individuals and organizations move from reactive execution to intentional design. We equip leaders with the frameworks, operating principles, and leadership capabilities needed to develop people, strengthen execution, influence strategy, and build organizations that deliver sustained business impact.
Solutions is no longer simply a support function but a strategic business discipline that shapes customer outcomes, revenue performance, product direction, and go-to-market success.
Our mission is to advance the practice of Sales Engineering leadership.
How do we help Sales Engineering leaders become more effective today while building stronger organizations for tomorrow?
Leadership is not developed by collecting more information.
It is developed through reflection, application, coaching, practice, and experience.
That is why SELI programs are built around practical implementation, not theory alone.
Whether a leader attends a BlackBelt Workshop, participates in an executive workshop, works with a strategic advisor, or receives one-on-one coaching, the work is grounded in real leadership and organizational challenges.
The result is not simply better individual leadership. It is a stronger and more resilient Sales Engineering organization.
Make better decisions
Build and develop stronger management teams
Improve alignment across sales, product, operations, and customer success
Our Four Core Domains
Every SELI program is grounded in four core domains, a practical model built around four connected disciplines of Sales Engineering leadership.
Personal Leadership
Organizational Leadership
Commercial Excellence
Operational Excellence
Creating the systems, metrics, processes, and operating rhythms needed for consistent and repeatable execution.
These disciplines do not operate independently. The four core domains help leaders understand how they reinforce one another and how decisions in one area affect the performance of the entire organization.
SELI works with leaders and organizations at every stage of growth.
Leaders
First-time Sales Engineering managers
Experienced directors and vice presidents
Chief Revenue Officers and senior go-to-market executives
Organizations
Sales Engineering and Solutions Engineering organizations
High-growth technology companies
Enterprise software businesses
Companies investing in leadership development, operating discipline, and scale
Whether we are supporting one leader or an entire management team, the goal remains the same: to build stronger leadership capability and a more effective organization.
Meet the Team

Stephen Morse
Stephen Morse founded the Sales Engineering Leadership Institute after more than 30 years in the enterprise software industry and more than two decades leading global Sales Engineering and APAC sales teams.
His leadership experience includes roles at Salesforce, Box, Algolia, Mixpanel, Siebel Systems, Oracle, mParticle, and Skyflow. Across those organizations, Stephen saw the same challenge repeat: exceptional Sales Engineers were promoted into leadership roles with little guidance on how to develop managers, influence strategy, build operating systems, or scale an organization.
That experience led him to create SELI’s leadership frameworks, executive workshops, BlackBelt programs, coaching services, and strategic advisory practice.
Stephen is also the author of Sales Engineering Leadership, a practical guide to the systems, principles, and leadership shifts required to move from reactive execution to intentional organizational design.
He is an ICF Associate Certified Coach, a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, and a Search Inside Yourself Certified Teacher. His work combines organizational strategy with a deep focus on how leaders communicate, make decisions, and create the conditions for others to succeed.
Today, Stephen leads SELI’s coaching practice, leadership development programs, executive workshops, and strategic advisory engagements.
Justin McManus
Justin McManus has nearly two decades of experience in SaaS and professional services, including more than 10 years leading technical customer-facing teams across pre-sales and post-sales.

Justin is passionate about the critical role Sales Engineering plays in shaping go-to-market strategy, improving customer outcomes, and strengthening the connection between technical teams and the broader business.
